Heron
Ten years have past since the events of Shenka. The druids have been forced underground through the Asce's Throne. The respite did not last however. Immediately after Chah's victory, earquake after earthquake shatters society as it was. Batar is in ruins, and Zilkha is barely scraping by filled to the brim with refugees. Alone and defenseless, the people of the surface are quickly taken advantage of by raiders and desert robbers. With no other choice, the people sought their last hope, the *Asce's Throne. Now in this new world, Heron, the Chahns will discover exactly why it is serpents were so important to the druids.
Heron is the plane beneath Ascen, the plane Shenka takes place in. It is governed by the five Naga guilds, a race of snake people who have dominated all other life forms for eons. These naga are faster, stronger, and have magic the Ascens could not even dream of.
Factions
Shadalmach-Upon the Ascens coming through the Throne, when they made first contact with the ancient and dark magic of Heron, over half of them dropped dead right then from a 'magic overdose.' Some of the surviving half developed an attunement for the magic of Heron. These attuned Ascens called themselves the Shadalmach, and became powerful sorcerers that can summon nightmares and the dead. Together they constructed a fortress under the light of throne, a temple to their magic arts. The Shadalmach is White/black Aligned.
Bataran Remains-The leftover refugees from Batar, these soldiers have only survived by depending on their old war training. They are toughened and veterans, wise and dependable. They stick together under the leadership of Jafali Adir, old prince of Batar. White Aligned, allied with the Shadalmach.
The Holit-Remains of Asce's religion, back up top. Old priests and lizard templars, that protect their few chapels with unrelenting ferocity. With the breach of Asce's Throne, Asce's influence can be felt here, it seems eons ago, this plane was also a sandy landscape, and deep under the lush earth, that place can still be found. The Holit are the last of the Ascen's that practice Sand magic.
The Druids of the Night and the Cult of the Serpent-Both are here. These factions are slaves to the naga, and acted on their will against the Ascen. After the war, their numbers dwindle, as does their faith in Naga rule.
The Naga Guilds
(R/U)The Priory of Tears-Directly responsible for the events of Shenka. They have joined the Stonegaze Task in their mission to remove the Ascens from Heron. The Priory is led by planeswalker number 2, Ruhn.
(G/B)The Sylvanfange-These Naga oversee the Druids and the Cult. They are responsible for maintaining the balance between life and death on Heron.
(G/U)The Dousetongue Committee-This is the newest Naga guild, put together by Planeswalker number 3, Talay. Their mission: to seek Heron's Throne.
(B/U)The Stonegaze Task-The task is responsible to maintaining the superiority of the Naga over all other races. As that is, the Task current 'task' is the removal of the Ascens.
(R/B)The Scimitars-Naga reached their limit a long time ago. They know all the magic Heron had to offer. It is the Scimitars mission to create more magic, at any cost. They seek to convert the emotions of a being into mana, allowing an entire second source from which to draw mana from.
