Banish (You may remove the top card of your library from the game as you play this spell. If you do, that card is banished as long as it remains removed from the game.)
Spells costs you less to play for each banished card you own that shares a card type with it.
It serves as a reminder of the mistakes of the past, and to ensure that such mistakes are never made again.

This way it isn't just new form of Imprint and it can be on sorceries and instants.

After hearing what Pigmy Wurm had to say (at a different thread), I think I could refine Guy's suggestion into something appropriate which would not only clearly distinguish this from Imprint, but would also make banish less of a restriction. There, edited.

I like the wordplay.

It doesn't have it anywhere that you can look at the card or that it is revealed before being removed from the game...so how can you tell what card type it is?

other than that, I like the mechanic.

Because cards in the removed-from-game zone are by default public knowledge unless the effect that removed them specifically states otherwise.
