Designing cards is fun, right? Yes.

Is it always easy? No.
There are many ways to go about designing cards, but they can really only start in one of two ways:
1. By starting with the rules-based card and adding flavor, or
2. By starting with the flavor and working backwards… or forwards from this point of view.
If my last article (found here) is meant to give an introduction to the ties between card design and flavor, then this is the article that will really dive into that process.
So, without further ado, let’s beg-…am I forgetting something? Ah yes, the game. Lets save the flavor-guessing game for after the article, shall we? So then, lets dive in!

Changes at MTGUniverse!

Boy, I have been slacking lately. I will say that is something I am truly going to miss about Golgari_Spy, he was always on time with his articles, and in essence, probably encouraged me to be more on time with mine as well. But, that is neither here nor there, as I am writing this week for all the MTGUniverse members, as well as for anyone out there who might be reading. As you can see, I decided a somewhat new hook was needed for the title of my article, so I have made the switch from “Weekly Update” which I felt was pretty bland and unappealing, to “At a Glance” as in, the Week at a Glance thing they do on the weather channel. It seemed alot cooler, because you know weather rocks. Now, onto the serious business at hand…
